Connecting Classrooms to Careers
Willamette Work Ready is a comprehensive career-connected learning program that hosts career-related opportunities in partnership with local industry partners. Willamette Work Ready provides school districts with structured opportunities for career awareness, exploration, preparation, and training through hands-on experiences such as mock interviews, career fairs, classroom industry chats, job shadows, and internships.
The program follows the Oregon Department of Education’s Career Connected Learning Framework and aims to engage diverse communities while building collaborative, community-driven learning experiences. Willamette Work Ready ensures that students are aware of various career paths, prepared to enter the workforce with the necessary skills and experiences, and ready to make informed decisions about their career path and how to get there after high school.

Who We Serve
-
Students
We believe that Career Connected Learning gives students the chance to explore careers, prepare for the workforce, gain valuable work experience, and make informed decisions about their future. We work to provide a variety of experiences that connect students to industry while they are in high school.
-
Educators
Work readiness starts in the classroom and continues into the workplace. Educators play a crucial role in preparing students for their future careers. We provide resources to help educators raise awareness about jobs in today’s workforce and connect with industry to offer career-related opportunities for students.
-
Industry
Industry involvement in high school is crucial for preparing the next generation for the workforce. We connect businesses, associations, and workforce boards with practical ways to engage in education. Our goal is to provide the infrastructure for industry partners to help develop work-ready students upon graduation.
